An injured list stint in the middle of May appeared to have put Atlanta Braves catcher Drake Baldwin into a bit of a funk.

Baldwin struggled mightily during his first month back off the injured but for the last two weeks, Baldwin has once again found his swing and joined an exclusive franchise list with a stellar game on Sunday.

Drake Baldwin collects five hits, smashes two home runs

After collecting five hits and driving in six runs in the first two games of Atlanta's series against the Texas Rangers, Baldwin decided to match that hit total in Sunday's series finale.

Baldwin went 5-for-5 with two home runs and two RBI in Sunday's 8-5 win against the Rangers. In doing so, Baldwin became the first Braves player since Ozzie Albies in 2021 to homer twice during a five-hit performance.

According to Braves beat writer Mark Bowman, the only other Atlanta players to accomplish that feat this century were Andruw Jones (2006) and Gary Sheffield (2003).

Just how good was Drake Baldwin's series against the Rangers?

In total, Baldwin finished his weekend against the Rangers going 10-for-14 with three home runs and eight RBI. In the series, Baldwin increased his season average from .254 to .276 and his OPS from .782 to .843, both incredible increases in just three short games.

If Baldwin can produce at any clip even remotely close to what he did over the weekend, the Braves offense may very well return to one of the most dangerous in all of baseball.
