Orgo-Life the new way to the future

The clock is ticking, and it doesn't seem that the Detroit Tigers will be a World Series contender this year.

They didn't sign Tarik Skubal to an extension, and after months of back and forth, it sounds highly unlikely that they'll get a deal done this season. As such, the two-time AL Cy Young winner could be on the move at some point before the Aug. 3 trade deadline.

Considering that, Jim Bowden of The Athletic wouldn't rule out the Los Angeles Dodgers from making a run at him, especially given that they have the assets to pull the trigger.

The Dodgers could make a solid offer for Tarik Skubal

"They certainly have enough to trade as well, as they could offer either Justin Wrobleski or Emmet Sheehan off their major-league roster and one of their top outfield prospects, such as Zyhir Hope, Josue De Paula or Eduardo Quintero," Bowden wrote

The Dodgers don't necessarily have to do that, but, well, it's the Dodgers. They're making the most of every other team's unwillingness to spend, competitive balance be damned. As much as it feels like they're breaking the game, nothing's stopping every other team in the league from replicating their model.

Dave Roberts' team could be looking at a rotation consisting of Skubal, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Shohei Ohtani, Tyler Glasnow and Blake Snell, with Roki Sasaki coming out of the bullpen. That's just nasty

Of course, that definitely makes them popular among baseball fans, but it would bolster their chances of winning the first three-peat since the New York Yankees did it from 1998 to 2000. As for Skubal, he's one of the best in the business, and he deserves to be compensated accordingly. If no one else is willing to give him what he's worth, it might as well be the Dodgers.
