Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli is reportedly emerging as a transfer target for Galatasaray this summer, in a move that could split opinions.

The Brazil international is capable of superb performances at times, but many Arsenal fans will feel he’s too inconsistent and it could be the right time to let him go.

Galatasaray seem keen on Martinelli, with Gianluca Di Marzio reporting that the Gunners ace is emerging as another popular option for the Turkish giants as they also consider AC Milan’s Rafael Leao.

It seems likely that Martinelli could be available for the right price this summer, though one complication could be the need to sign a replacement.

Should Arsenal risk letting Gabriel Martinelli go?

Arsenal have already sold Leandro Trossard to Besiktas this summer, and they’ve missed out on some top attacking players as Morgan Rogers has joined Chelsea and Vinicius Junior has signed a new contract with Real Madrid.

It could be that Arsenal will look at Bradley Barcola as an alternative to Vini Jr, according to talkSPORT, but it still seems like we’re a long way from the north London giants sorting that position out.

Christos Tzolis has joined from Club Brugge, but it will surely be a big step up for him coming to the Premier League, so AFC surely need another top class signing before even thinking about allowing Martinelli to leave.

Gabriel Martinelli’s mixed 2025/26 season

Martinelli scored just one Premier League goal last season, though he scored six in the Champions League and four in cup competitions, so still ended up with a decent return of 11 in total.

Overall, though, there’s no doubt that the 25-year-old can and must do a lot better, as he’s previously hit as much as 15 goals in the league back in 2022/23.

Perhaps Mikel Arteta can still get Martinelli back to his best, but at this point it would probably make sense for him to try reviving his career at a club like Galatasaray.

Although they’re a big name with some top players, the level in Turkey is a lot lower than in England, so it could be a good environment for Martinelli to shine.
