Daniel Dubois and Fabio Wardley are set to rematch for the WBO title later this year, and fellow British heavyweight Derek Chisora believes that the second fight will end much quicker than the first.

Wardley was elevated to WBO heavyweight world champion after defeating Joseph Parker in October last year. The Ipswich fan-favourite lost the belt to Dubois in his first defence in May, despite dropping the challenger twice in the opening three rounds.

Dubois rallied from the second knockdown onwards and managed to take control, turning it into a largely one-sided and unsavoury affair up until the round 11 stoppage was drawn.

Wardley wasted no time activating his rematch clause and the pair are poised to run it back, potentially before November.

Speaking with Seconds Out, Chisora explained why he expects Dubois to get the job done quicker this time around.

“What is Fabio Wardley going to do that is different from the first fight? This is what you have got to ask yourself. The same thing is going to happen, his nose is going to pop.

“I think that this fight, the rematch, will end earlier than before. I love Fabio, to come from white collar boxing to come in the game and become heavyweight champion [is amazing], but he didn’t win it, to be honest – he got it passed down.

“When he boxed a fighter who was on game, he lost. I love Fabio but I don’t see him troubling Daniel right now, again.

“He has to completely change something in his game to trouble Daniel. If he doesn’t change anything, he is not going to trouble Daniel.”

There is a growing belief that the Dubois-Wardley rematch could take place in London, either at the O2 Arena or at a football stadium, with promoter Frank Warren expected to soon confirm those plans.
