Hangzhou, China, 10 June 2025 –  Competition at the 2025 PVAO Sitting Volleyball Zonal Championships continued on Tuesday at the WPV Development Centre in China’s Zheijang province with several teams strengthening their stake toward the title.

In the women’s Event, titleholders and hosts China debuted in Group A with a 3-0 (25-1, 25-17, 25-9) victory over Thailand. 

Earlier, Iran went for the top spot in Group B after their 3-0 (25-8, 25-17, 25-22) defeat of Japan. 

Mongolia avenged their opening day loss, after their sweep of Australia, 3-0 (25-3, 25-17, 25-5). 

Meanwhile, in the men’s event, home team China went for win number two, after dealing straight sets, 3-0 (25-11, 25-16, 25-15) on Korea. 

Thailand similarly took another triumph, beating Mongolia, 3-0 (25-8, 25-17, 25-22) to join the hosts with an unblemished card in Group A. 

Kazakhstan likewise stamped their second victory after a 3-0 match (25-18, 25-13, 25-16) over Japan, forging their way to the top of Group B. 

Earlier,  Australia endured a tough tie-break against  Saudi Arabia team, 3-2 (27-25, 25-22, 23-25, 20-25, 18-16), to log into the winners’ column in the men’s event. 

The Preliminary Round wraps up on Wednesday to confirm the teams headed for semi-finals (scheduled on Friday, June 13).
