UFC CEO Dana White isn’t sure whether or not a rematch between Sean Strickland and Khamzat Chimaev will be the next middleweight title fight.

Strickland pulled off another big upset at the conclusion of UFC 328 in Newark on May 9. Chimaev was the sizable betting favorite, but he was forced to stand with Strickland after the opening frame. Strickland made it a dog fight and he earned the split decision victory to become a two-time UFC Middleweight Champion.

During the post-fight press conference, White revealed Chimaev told him that he planned to move up to the light heavyweight division. It didn’t take long for “Borz” to change his mind, as he took to social media to call for a title rematch.

During an appearance on the “Bret Boone Podcast,” White told the former MLB slugger that he isn’t committing to Strickland vs. Chimaev 2 just yet.

“Khamzat, right now, is asking for the rematch with Strickland,” White said. “That’s what he wants. We don’t know what we’re going to do yet.”

When asked if the middleweight titleholder wants a second clash with “Borz,” White’s response was what most fans would expect.

“Strickland will fight anybody,” White said.

Much has been made over Chimaev’s weight cut before he stepped inside the Octagon at UFC 328. Former UFC Bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw told MMAFighting that Chimaev was given poor advice and he puked up green bile. Dillashaw even claimed that at one point, Chimaev thought he was going to die if he pushed himself further.

“Borz” ultimately made weight for the fight, although Strickland is skeptical about the weigh-in measurement. BJPenn.com will keep you posted with the latest updates on what’s next in the UFC middleweight title picture.
