Conor McGregor has reacted to the passing of Dolly Parton, dropping a six-word message on X.

The music legend passed away on the 25th of August, aged 80, and her death was confirmed by her head of security on Instagram.

Parton had been admitted to a medical center in Nashville for kidney and autoimmune issues. The cause of death still remains unknown.

Among a boatload of tributes was Conor McGregor’s. Taking to X, the Irishman wrote:

Parton, only a few days before, on the 21st of August, had told People that she had been “dealing with some health issues” which had cropped up when she had been attending to her ailing late husband Carl Parton in 2025.

Sadly, in the same interview, Parton had also made her feelings known about having “so many things” she still wanted to achieve, before going on to add that she will “keep on working as long as I can to see everything come to life.”

Conor McGregor reacted to Jordan Burroughs revealing why he never made the transition to MMA.

The freestyle wrestler, on The Ariel Helwani Show, shed light on the same. He said:

I really considered it, like heavily considered it…One of the hardest parts about growing older, Ariel, is that you have to let dreams die. There are certain things that, when you’re young and when you’re hungry…you believe you can do it all…As you get older, you start to realize that, man, this may have passed for me.

He then went on to add that the ‘MMA lifestyle’ he had in his mind wouldn’t have been “healthy for a family man.”

At the heart of why I wanted to go to MMA was the glamour. It was the celebrities ringside, it was the big paydays, it was the global recognition, and it wasn’t the purity. Being a Christian… I thought that transition would be more about what I could get and who I could become, and I just don’t think it would have been good for my faith, for my family, or for my marriage.That lifestyle would not have been healthy for a family man.

An impressed McGregor reacted with a six-word reaction on X. He wrote:
