UFC star Conor McGregor has given fans an insight into the new deal that he seems to have signed with the promotion.

At UFC 329, Conor McGregor will make his long-awaited return to the cage when he goes head to head with Max Holloway in a welterweight clash for the ages. The expectation from many is that Max’s experience will help him get the better of the Irishman, but when it comes to Conor, you truly never know what you are going to get.

McGregor has been away from the Octagon for five years as a result of a leg break, alongside some legal trouble. Alas, if there is anyone who can pull off the unexpected, it’s him.

In a recent interview, McGregor opened up on how he feels about his comeback, and he also suggested that he has some kind of new deal in place.

McGregor discusses his new UFC deal

“It’s like a musical – music to my ears, it is,” McGregor told “Mac Energy” on his return (h/t Championship Rounds). “I’m out so long, five years. My body’s fresh. My mind is sharp. I’m ready to come back. I’ve got a great opponent. I’ve got a great deal off the UFC. I’m very, very happy, They honored me, finally.

“July 11, and the opponent is a man I’ve beaten before in Max Holloway. He’s an established fighter, an accomplished fighter, former UFC world champion, multiple time, so this is a quality opponent, and our last bout was martial arts mastery by yours truly, so I plan on doing it again. I plan on showing my growth and my improvements in there, so I’m very, very excited for it. Preparation is going very well. We’re living, breathing and sleeping in the gym.”
