Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayUFC superstar Conor McGregor isn’t happy with leading the pack in annual anti-doping tests despite five years away from the Octagon.
2026 is nearly halfway through, and UFC superstar Conor McGregor has more than twice as many anti-doping tests as months eclipsed in the calendar year.
McGregor could potentially be weeks away from a return to the Octagon for his first fight since a UFC 264 loss to Dustin Poirier in 2021. Just minutes into their trilogy bout, McGregor suffered a nasty leg injury that awarded Poirier the victory by doctor’s stoppage.
McGregor was supposed to headline UFC 303 opposite Michael Chandler before withdrawing due to a toe injury. Now, McGregor appears reinvigorated and rejuvenated to return to the cage for a rumored fight against former BMF titleholder Max Holloway.
In the lead-up to his comeback fight, McGregor registered 11 anti-doping tests and counting, a figure two times the amount of the second-highest tested athlete, Bassil Hafez. X user @JedIGoodman posted the latest anti-doping test history data on his page, prompting a strong reaction across social media.
Conor McGregor reacts to ‘crazy’ 11 USADA tests in 2026 despite five-year absence
In a recent post on X, McGregor reacted to the latest USADA test results for UFC fighters.
“Crazy. As well as who isn’t getting tested at all,” McGregor said.
McGregor has been tested more than any other UFC fighter on the roster in recent years, despite his lengthy hiatus from the Octagon. He hasn’t won a bout since a January 2020 TKO over Donald Cerrone.
McGregor is looking to regain the form that made him one of the greatest fighters in the world with two world titles. He became the first UFC fighter to hold two world titles simultaneously when he knocked out Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight belt at UFC 205.
