A majority of MLB players finish their careers without a walk-off home run. For someone to do it twice in two days is the rarest of rare occurrence.

For Baltimore Orioles outfielder Colton Cowser, though, he just lived out a dream with that exact scenario.

A day after delivering a walk-off, three-run home run against the Detroit Tigers, Cowser had a chance to deliver again. In the bottom of the 13th inning against the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday, Cowser stepped to the plate with the winning run on second base.

In a 2-1 count, Cowser got a hanging slider and, 425 feet later, he'd hit his second walk-off home run in as many days. Cowser had never had a walk-off hit prior to Sunday, but he now has two to his name.

Could the walk-offs get the Orioles going?

Baltimore has won back-to-back games after Cowser's heroics and improved to 24-30 on the season. While that still puts it 11 1/2 games out of first place, consecutive walk-off home runs are one way to spark a team.

Major improvements will have to be made, though, as the Orioles have the eighth worst team batting average and third worst team ERA in all of baseball. 

The schedule presents plenty of opportunity

Baltimore will have a chance to play itself back into AL East contention through the remainder of the week. The O's are in the midst of 13 straight games against divisional opponents.

Any record of 8-5 or better against those opponents may give Baltimore a chance to compete for a postseason spot in the remaining three months of the season.
