Aston Villa’s summer transfer window continues to generate plenty of headlines, even if Unai Emery's side haven't confirmed their first arrival yet.

Recent reports have suggested Villa are among the clubs showing interest in West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen, with the England international attracting attention following the Hammers’ relegation from the Premier League.

Villa have also been credited with a serious interest in Flamengo full-back Emerson Royal.

Fabrizio Romano and other sources confirm that Villa are in talks over a move for the former Tottenham defender, following a rumoured £8m bid.

Goalkeeper James Trafford has also continued to be linked with a move to Villa Park.

The Man City goalkeeper has been mentioned as a potential option amid uncertainty surrounding Emiliano Martínez's future, given any movement involving the Argentina international could force Villa into the market for a new number one.

Another player linked with Villa is Croatia international Martin Baturina.

The attacking midfielder, who scored against England at the World Cup, has attracted interest from several clubs but commands a near-£70m price tag.

The club's transfer plans could also be shaped by potential departures.

Morgan Rogers has emerged as one of Villa's standout performers over the past two seasons, with the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea vying to sign the England international who could cost up to £100m.

Villa are under some pressure once again to sell before they can buy amid PSR and FFP constraints, and Rogers' marquee sale could help Emery reinvest into the squad as they prepare for a Champions League campaign.

Meanwhile, Roma are also among the clubs facing pressure to generate funds.

The Italian side have spent much of the month searching for solutions that will help improve their financial position, and reports in Italy have repeatedly suggested player sales are required before June 30 to comply with FFP.

With the deadline approaching rapidly, attention has intensified around several members of Roma's squad.

According to La Roma 24, Roma now have only five days remaining to raise the money needed before the deadline, and the report states that efforts are continuing behind the scenes as the club explore possible solutions.

Roma have just 5 days to sell Matias Soule who wants Aston Villa move

The financial strength of Saudi Pro League clubs means several Serie A players are attracting attention from the Middle East, and one player who continues to feature prominently in those discussions is Matias Soule.

The Argentine attacker has regularly been linked with Aston Villa during the summer transfer window.

Villa have been mentioned among the clubs monitoring his situation as Roma continue to evaluate their options.

According to La Roma 24, growing interest from Saudi Arabia has emerged as Roma seek ways to generate funds before the end-of-month deadline, handing Villa competition in the race for the 'entertaining' 23-year-old.

Roma reportedly need to generate around £52 million before June 30, and Soule is one of the players who could be sacrificed alongside Manu Kone.

La Gazzetta dello Sport also reported earlier this month that the winger is keen on a move to Aston Villa should he leave Roma this summer.

Even with the competition from Saudi, that could put Villa in a favourable position to sign Soule as Roma are put under massive pressure to sell as soon as possible.

The South American racked up 11 goal contributions last term.
