Although Dave Lewin was not selected for the Chicago Bulls’ executive vice president of basketball operations role, the team is still interested in adding him to its front office.

His interview made a strong impression internally, with one source saying, “We need to find someone very much like Dave Lewin” if they are unable to hire him directly.

Lewin was among the final three candidates for the position, which ultimately went to Bryson Graham, who was hired away from the Atlanta Hawks.

His presentation reportedly stood out for its focus on analytics and long-term organizational planning.

Currently working under Brad Stevens and Mike Zarren with the Boston Celtics, Lewin has spent nearly a decade building his reputation within the organization, rising from a scouting role to assistant general manager in 2023.

For Graham, bringing in Lewin would add valuable analytical expertise as he looks to reshape a front office that has been viewed as disjointed.

The Bulls are expected to give Graham significant control in assembling his staff moving forward.
