Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas suffered another setback on Wednesday night, re-injuring the same left hamstring that plagued him throughout last season.

According to Brian Lewis of The New York Post, the injury occurred during the first quarter of the Nets’ game against the Indiana Pacers when Thomas came down awkwardly after taking a jump shot.

Though he was able to walk off the court under his own power, he did not return to the game, which the team later described as being due to “left hamstring tightness.”

Lewis noted that Thomas dealt with recurring hamstring problems during the 2024–25 season, injuring the same leg three separate times and being limited to just 25 games.

After entering restricted free agency this past offseason, the 24-year-old guard accepted Brooklyn’s $6 million qualifying offer, setting him up to become an unrestricted free agent in 2026.

Head coach Jordi Fernandez provided an update after the game, saying Thomas would be further evaluated on Thursday.

“He’s doing good. We’ll reevaluate [Thursday],” Fernandez said. “But he was great in the locker room. We missed him. This team needs his aggressiveness.”

Fernandez emphasized the importance of both Thomas’ health and his presence around the team.

“When you have the support from a player that is also out, that always helps,” he added.

“He was very happy for the win. So hopefully we can have him back very soon. If not, we’ll do whatever it takes. His health is the No. 1 priority for us. And we’ll go from there, next man up if need be.”
