“I think I need to mix up, definitely more aggressive, 100%, and not let him get in that groove,” Walsh said. “Bring the fight to him.”

His preferred outcome is a stoppage.

“My plan is to definitely be aggressive and try to finish the fight,” Walsh added, while saying he’s prepared to box hard for the full 10 rounds if necessary.

Walsh also dismissed predictions from fans expecting Denny to pull off the upset, insisting he’s preparing to deliver the type of statement performance that has eluded him despite remaining unbeaten.

The fight is viewed by many as a manageable one for Walsh compared to the dangerous contenders occupying the top end of the middleweight division. Fighters such as the highly regarded Cuban contender Yoenli Hernandez are considered significantly riskier opponents, making Walsh’s performance against Denny an important measuring stick rather than a defining test.

Walsh expects another electric atmosphere in Dublin after stopping his previous opponent in the second round at the 3Arena, joking that fans sitting near the ring should “bring an umbrella” because of the beer showers that followed his victory.

The bout is part of the Zuffa Boxing 10 card, headlined by Aaron McKenna’s middleweight world title fight against Etinosa Oliha. For Walsh, however, the focus is on delivering the performance he believes will prove he belongs among the division’s rising contenders.
