Burnley are now just "one step away" from completing the signing of an "amazing" attacking player this summer, according to reliable journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

Parker eyeing "big summer" at Burnley

The Clarets are back in the Premier League after their Championship brilliance last season, but they know how difficult it will be to remain in the top flight, with all three promoted teams going straight back down in the past two years.

Parker knows full well the importance of Burnley getting their upcoming transfer business right, with the Englishman admitting a "big summer" needs to be on the cards at Turf Moor.

"Yeah, it’s a big summer. A lot of work will be going on. There's little bits going on. We'll plan accordingly and work out the best route to go now, which is a big challenge for us next year. But we're excited. Like I said to you, we're excited and enthusiastic about next year and what it brings and we're going to face the challenges, what we face, like we have this year really. So, we're looking forward to it."

The two clubs squared off all season for the Championship title and will now go head to head off the pitch for a new signing.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis has been linked with a return to Burnley, having suffered relegation with Southampton last season, with the centre-back a potentially strong signing, especially if the Clarets lose star defender Maxime Esteve this summer. Now, it looks as though a different player is close to joining the club.

Burnley "one step away" from signing £12m attacker

According to Sky Sports journalist Tavolieri on X, Burnley are "one step away" from signing Lazio forward Loum Tchaouna, with the youngster on the verge of heading to Turf Moor in a £12m move.

The 21-year-old could join on a five-year deal, with Parker no doubt hoping that he is signing a player who can be a long-term figure in his side's attack.

Burnley manager Scott Parker

Tchaouna is an exciting young footballer with a big future in the game, so the idea of Burnley snapping him up for a hefty amount of money is a mouthwatering prospect.

The Frenchman, a right winger who can play anywhere across the front three, made a total of 37 appearances for Lazio last season, despite his age, with one goal and assist apiece coming his way in the Europa League, and football talent scout Jacek Kulig has described him as an "amazing" player in the past.

Tchaouna has plenty of pedigree at youth international level, representing France across five different age groups, so Burnley would be signing someone who has been highly-rated from a very young age.

If he can reach his potential in a Clarets shirt, Parker could be signing one of the most exciting individuals Turf Moor has seen in some time.
