Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayMilwaukee Bucks 2026 second-round draftee Malique Lewis has signed with the Cairns Taipans of Australia's NBL for the upcoming season. Lewis signed a two-year deal with Cairns that includes a club option for the 2027-28 season.
The Bucks will continue to hold Lewis' draft rights. Milwaukee acquired those draft rights in a draft night trade with the Washington Wizards.
Lewis spent the last two seasons in the NBL with the South East Melbourne Phoenix. Last season, the 6-foot-8 forward averaged 7.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game. Lewis improved greatly as a shooter, as the 21-year-old knocked down 37.5% of his 3.1 three-point attempts per game.
The native of Trinidad and Tobago started his career in Spain. He then spent a season in the G League with Mexico City during the 2023-24 season. Lewis averaged 8.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and a block per game for the Capitanes for that season.
