The Philadelphia Phillies ran into a buzzsaw Tuesday night when Miami Marlins ace Sandy Alcantara pitched seven shutout innings en route to a 1-0 victory by the Fish. 

Starting the second half of the season hasn't been too kind to the Phillies, as they are 3-8 and have done little in the way of scoring runs. 

The lack of offense has stemmed from a few of the Phillies' star players, namely, Bryce Harper, not doing well. After a sensational month of June -- the nine-time All-Star slashed .305/.405/.589 and hit seven home runs in 95 at-bats -- July hasn't been as kind to the two-time MVP; Harper is slashing .165/.295/.316 and has hit two home runs in 79 at-bats. 

In the eyes of the Phillies first baseman, they've run into "really good pitching" since reopening from the break. 

“I think we ran into some really good pitching,” Bryce Harper said to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com. “Some buzzsaws, actually.”

Harper's and the Phillies' latest no-show to the Marlins prompted the 33-year-old to send a message to president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski: the Phillies "need some help."

“I think we need some help,” Harper said postgame. “But you know, I think we've proved pretty much all year we've done a pretty good job. But anytime you can get some help in here and reinforcements, I think it helps.”
