UFC Octagon announcer Bruce Buffer is honored to have had the chance to be involved in the promotion’s event at the White House.

Buffer was the Octagon announcer for the event, and he felt like the event was memorable and historical. He was also thrilled with how the UFC made it about the military and first responders and highlighted them throughout the event.

“To be on the White House lawn with all the history there, it was a very memorable and historical experience. The production the UFC pulled off (was spectacular),” Buffer said on Just Scrap Radio on BJPENN.com. “As Dana White said, if he’s going to do it, he’s going to do it, and when he says he’s going to do it, he does it. It was wonderful to see all the military and first responders in the audience, the Thunderbirds, the Blue Angels, and the veterans. That’s what got it for me, the salute to the military.

“Put all politics aside, I don’t get involved in that. We did a show, it was a big event, the fights were amazing, the Gatehje fight is one of the greatest fights I’ve seen. To see the military so happy there and being treated the way they were, it was an honor to be around them.”

Bruce Buffer didn’t view the UFC White House any differently

Although Buffer knew the UFC White House would be seen by millions, he didn’t view it any differently.

Instead, Buffer said all the preparation and the effort were the same as he does for any other event, as he treats every event equally.

“Every show, whether it’s the Apex or the White House, to me, because the fighters are putting everything on the line, I give them everything I have, no matter where I’m at. Obviously, certain shows are more grandiose than others,” Buffer said.

Buffer will return as the Octagon announcer next weekend for UFC 329, which sees the return of Conor McGregor.
