Jackson Chourio hasn't been the only hero for the Milwaukee Brewers in the postseason, as William Contreras has also been a clutch performer for the team. The postseason duo has provided the Brewers with high-intensity play and success in the NLDS.

Contreras is boasting a .364 batting average with a 1.371 OPS that is tied for the highest in the postseason. The offensive impact he has provided has also included two essential home runs across 14 plate appearances.

In Game 1 on Oct. 3, Contreras hit a dramatic 406-foot home run to break a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the seventh inning. The go-ahead shot also ended up being the game-winner that secured a critical 3-2 victory over the San Diego Padres.

Despite the Brewers' tough 4-3 loss in Game 3 on Tuesday, Contreras led the offense by going 3-for-4 with a home run, a walk, an RBI and two runs scored. His home run also helped cut into the Padres' lead in the fourth inning.

William Contreras has flipped the switch offensively in the postseason this year

His four career postseason home runs place him second all-time behind Chourio on the Brewers' franchise postseason home run list. The two home runs he has hit in the postseason this year have been go-ahead shots, showcasing how he's brought the X factor with October baseball.

His middle-of-the-order production in the NLDS has also been paired with solid defense behind the plate. In Game 1, he successfully caught Dustin Harris attempting to steal second in the fifth inning, illustrating his accurate throwing arm.

Overall, he has rewritten the narrative as a postseason threat this season following a below-average .235 batting average in 2025. Emerging as an elite anchor for the team's offensive production, his power surge will be tested in a critical Game 4 against the Padres on Wednesday. If he can continue to spark Milwaukee's offense, the Brewers have the chance to eliminate the Padres from the postseason and advance to the NLCS.
