The Brewers sent pitchers Carlos Rodriguez and Thomas Pannone outright to Triple-A Nashville, reports Adam McCalvy of MLB.com. Pannone has the right to elect free agency but Rodriguez will need to accept the assignment.

Both players were recently designated for assignment. The out-of-options Pannone was bumped from the big league staff when DL Hall came off the injured list last week. Rodriguez lost his 40-man spot in the post-deadline roster shuffling, as Milwaukee welcomed Dustin MayJoJo Romero and Antonio Senzatela to the club.

Rodriguez, 24, was one of the Brewers’ better pitching prospects a few years ago. The Nicaraguan-born righty has played at the MLB level in each of the last three seasons but only sporadically. He has tossed 31 1/3 innings across 11 appearances, allowing just over six earned runs per nine. Rodriguez had decent Triple-A numbers in 2025 but has had a rough season, allowing an 8.35 ERA with an ugly 15.4% walk rate across 36 2/3 frames this year.

Pannone made one start while spending two days on the big league roster. He went three innings and gave up two runs on three hits and a couple walks in his first MLB appearance since 2023. The 32-year-old southpaw has a 4.13 ERA across 72 innings out of the Nashville rotation. He has a modest 19% strikeout rate but has gotten serviceable results as a strike-throwing depth arm with a 90 mph fastball.
