Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayFollowing a quiet trade deadline in which Milwaukee added just two bats — catcher Danny Jansen and outfielder Brandon Lockridge — questions loomed over the Brewers offense heading into August. But in Friday’s 16–9 win over the Washington Nationals — marking the fourth time this season Milwaukee has scored 15 or more runs in a game, the most in MLB — the Brewers put together one of the most explosive offensive showcases in franchise history.
Despite a rest-heavy lineup — with Sal Frelick, Brice Turang and Isaac Collins on the bench, and Jackson Chourio placed on the injured list with a hamstring strain — the Brewers erupted for a 25-hit night, tying for the third-most hits in a single game in franchise history.
Catcher William Contreras led Milwaukee, setting a new career high with five hits, including a two-run home run in the seventh. Outfielder Blake Perkins notched a milestone of his own, launching two solo home runs for his first multi-homer game in the majors — his first two home runs of the season.

One of Vaughn’s hits was a two-run home run — his fourth in the last six games — continuing a torrid stretch at the plate. Since joining Milwaukee, he’s slashing .386/.448/.772 with six home runs and 24 RBI in just 17 games.
