Besiktas has continued its aggressive roster rebuild ahead of its return to the EuroLeague, announcing the signings of guard David DeJulius and forward Wenyen Gabriel on Saturday as the Turkish club strengthens its squad for the 2026-27 season.

The Istanbul club confirmed both moves in separate statements, highlighting DeJulius’ breakout campaign in Spain and Gabriel’s experience across both the NBA and EuroLeague.

DeJulius arrives after one of the best seasons of his professional career with UCAM Murcia in Spain’s Liga ACB. The 26-year-old averaged 17.8 points, 4.4 assists and 1.7 rebounds in 34 league games while shooting 45.3% from the field and 37.9% from three-point range. His production earned him a place on the All-Liga ACB First Team, and finished second in the league’s scoring race with 17.7 points per game.

The 1.83-meter point guard has quickly established himself across several European leagues since beginning his professional career with Lavrio in Greece in 2023. He averaged 14.4 points and 3.6 assists in the Greek League before moving to Aris, where he produced 14.3 points in six EuroCup appearances and 20.2 points over five domestic league games.

His 2024-25 campaign also included stints with Maccabi Tel Aviv and Bursaspor. DeJulius appeared in 15 EuroLeague games for Maccabi, then finished the season in Turkey with Bursaspor, averaging 13.3 points and 5.8 assists across 12 Turkish Basketball Super League contests.

Gabriel gives Besiktas another experienced frontcourt option after spending last season with Bayern Munich in the EuroLeague. The 2.06-meter forward averaged 6.1 points, 3.6 rebounds and 0.7 blocks in 36 EuroLeague games while shooting 55.1% from the field.

Before joining Bayern, Gabriel split the 2024-25 season between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Panathinaikos. He averaged 7.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 17 EuroLeague games for Panathinaikos while converting an impressive 70.1% of his field-goal attempts. Across nine EuroLeague appearances with Maccabi earlier that season, he added 5.8 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.

Gabriel also brings significant NBA experience. After leaving Kentucky in 2018, he played for the Sacramento Kings, Portland Trail Blazers, New Orleans Pelicans, Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies. Across 150 NBA games, he averaged 4.4 points and 3.4 rebounds while shooting 52.4% from the field.

The additions continue a busy offseason for Besiktas following its promotion back to the EuroLeague. The club has already signed Scottie Wilbekin, Furkan Korkmaz, Jaylen Nowell, DaQuan Jeffries, Eugene Omoruyi, Metecan Birsen and Mady Sissoko while extending head coach Dusan Alimpijevic through 2028.

Those arrivals follow a significant roster overhaul. Besiktas has parted ways with several contributors from last season’s EuroCup team, including Jonah Mathews, Ismael Kamagate, Matt Thomas, Sertac Sanli, Vitto Brown and Brynton Lemar.
