UFC lightweight contender Benoit Saint-Denis isn’t making excuses after his lopsided loss to Paddy Pimblett at UFC 329.

Benoit Saint-Denis’ four-fight winning streak came to a devastating end as Paddy Pimblett submitted him with a Peruvian necktie choke at UFC 329. After rushing for an early takedown, Saint-Denis fell victim to Pimblett’s brutal submission game en route to a 52-second defeat.

It was a disappointing result for Saint-Denis, who entered UFC 329 as a modest favorite over Pimblett. Now, Saint-Denis will have to reset and potentially go on another win streak before returning to the lightweight title discussion.

Despite suffering the jaws of defeat on one of the biggest cards of 2026, Saint-Denis is in good spirits, as he expressed in his first post-fight remarks.

In a recent Instagram post, Saint-Denis broke his social media silence.

“Thank you for your support. I’m sorry I disappointed you. I’m learning the hard way, but I am learning,” Saint-Denis said.

“I’ll come back stronger. Well done to Paddy for his performance. I’m sure our paths will cross again someday. See you soon.”

Saint-Denis earned wins over Dan Hooker, Beneil Dariush, Mauricio Ruffy, and Kyle Prepolec entering UFC 329. His four-fight win streak came after back-to-back knockout losses to Dustin Poirier and Renato Moicano.

Similar to how he bounced back from the Moicano and Poirier losses, Saint-Denis will look to get back on track in his return later this year. Recent wins over Ruffy and Dariush prove that Saint-Denis remains a dangerous out for any of the top lightweights.

In the meantime, Saint-Denis will look to make a statement in his return, potentially on the upcoming UFC Paris card in September. Don’t expect Saint-Denis to waste too much time as he looks to get back in the win column.
