Ben Simmons made his return to the NBA after sitting out all of the 2025-26 season. Simmons started and played nearly nine minutes for the Sacramento Kings in their game at the Golden State Warriors on Saturday.

Simmons scored seven points. The veteran guard/forward hit a jump hook, a step-back midrange jumper and three-of-four free throws.

The Kings signed Simmons to a non-guaranteed contract this offseason. If the versatile veteran makes the opening night roster, Simmons' contract will become partially guaranteed for $1 million.

Simmons finished the 2024-25 season with the LA Clippers, following a buyout with the Brooklyn Nets. The Australian then sat out last season, as he took time to refresh mentally. Simmons has mentioned several times that he still loves the game and is appreciative of the opportunity to return to the NBA with the Kings.
