Kosner Baskonia have signed Alex Len through 2028, bringing the experienced Ukrainian center back to Spain after his first season in European basketball. The club announced the agreement Monday, with Len set to join Paolo Galbiati’s team in the coming hours.

Len, 32, arrives in Vitoria-Gasteiz after spending the 2025-26 season with Real Madrid. The 2.13-meter center played 23 games in the EuroLeague, averaging 6.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 0.7 assists in 12.4 minutes per game.

Len was particularly efficient from the field in limited minutes, shooting 66.7% on two-point attempts overall while converting 61.3% of his free throws. He also averaged 1.4 offensive rebounds and 1.1 turnovers per game.

His move to Baskonia represents a return to a larger role after a decade in the NBA. Len played more than 700 NBA games during his career, appearing for the Phoenix Suns, Atlanta Hawks, Sacramento Kings, Toronto Raptors, Washington Wizards, Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons and Los Angeles Lakers.

The fifth overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, Len spent his first five NBA seasons with Phoenix. His most productive campaign came in 2018-19 with Atlanta, when he averaged 11.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 77 games while shooting 49.4% from the field and 36.3% from three-point range.

Len also produced 9.0 points and 7.6 rebounds per game in 2015-16 with the Suns, playing 78 games and averaging 23.3 minutes. He reached double figures in scoring again the following season before moving to Atlanta.

The Ukrainian big man later became a rotation player across several NBA teams, including Sacramento and Washington. In 2020-21, he shot 61.9% from the field in 57 games for the Wizards, averaging 7.1 points and 4.4 rebounds.

Before joining Real Madrid, Len spent the 2024-25 season between Sacramento and the Lakers. He then made the move to Europe for the first time, joining Real Madrid for the 2025-26 campaign.

Baskonia are rebuilding their frontcourt after the departures of Eugene Omoruyi, Jesse Edwards, Mamadi Diakite and Khalifa Diop. The club has also added veteran forward Kenneth Faried, while DJ Stewart, Chris Duarte, A.J. Lawson and Damion Baugh are among the other additions.

Baskonia finished 18th in the 2025-26 EuroLeague with a 13-25 record, including an 11-8 home mark but only two wins in 19 road games. Len now gives Galbiati an experienced interior option as the club prepares for the new season.
