Bam Adebayo will not receive punishment from the NBA for punching former Miami Heat teammate Tyler Herro at a Las Vegas hotel and gym last week, a league spokesperson told The Athletic. The decision followed discussions between the league, both players and the NBPA.

"After discussing with the players involved and the NBPA, everyone would prefer to move on from this unfortunate circumstance, and no further action will be taken by the league," said the spokesperson.

The Milwaukee Bucks, the Heat and the NBPA all declined to comment on the league's decision. The altercation occurred Friday while Herro's AAU team practiced inside Resorts World Las Vegas hotel. Herro appeared to yell something at Adebayo, who approached him before throwing a punch. Players and coaches quickly separated the two before Adebayo left the hotel.

Adebayo and Herro spent seven seasons together in Miami before Herro was traded to Milwaukee as part of the package the Bucks sent to acquire two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo. Following the trade, screenshots purportedly showing direct messages from an Instagram account connected to Herro circulated online, appearing to question Adebayo's game and whether his contracts with the Heat were justified.
