TIANJIN, China — The Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) is marking two years under President Ramon Suzara, highlighting the fulfillment of all 10 commitments from his election manifesto and a period focused on strengthening governance, competitions, development and the international profile of Asian volleyball.

Suzara reached the two-year milestone after taking office with a 10-point agenda aimed at advancing the Confederation and delivering greater opportunities and support for its National Federations.

Over the past two years, the AVC administration has implemented initiatives focused on empowering National Federations, raising the standards of competitions across the continent, expanding youth and development programs, modernizing governance and strengthening the global media presence of Asian volleyball.

The completion of the 10 commitments culminated on Aug. 8 with the inaugural AVC Gala Night, a landmark celebration that brought together volleyball leaders, legends and partners from around the world to recognize the sport’s heritage, achievements and future.

Suzara said the milestone reflects the collective work of the AVC leadership, its National Federations and the wider Asian volleyball community.

“Reaching this two-year mark is not just a personal milestone, but a testament to the collective effort of our entire Asian volleyball family,” Suzara said. “Fulfilling our 10 initial commitments was our solemn duty to the federations who placed their trust in us. Today, we celebrate these shared achievements and look forward to building an even stronger foundation for the future.”

The milestone comes during a significant period for Asian volleyball. AVC continues to strengthen its competitions and development initiatives while creating pathways for the continent’s athletes, coaches, officials and National Federations to compete and succeed at the highest levels of the sport.

The anniversary also follows the 26th AVC General Assembly in Bangkok earlier this month, where the Confederation continued discussions on governance reform, development across its five zones, cooperation with the FIVB and Volleyball World, and proposals aimed at supporting the future growth of volleyball throughout Asia.

Following the milestone, Suzara hosted a celebratory lunch with members of the AVC Board of Administration, thanking them for their dedication and collaboration throughout the first two years of his presidency.

Suzara emphasized that fulfilling the original 10 commitments represents a foundation for AVC’s next phase rather than an endpoint, with the Confederation continuing its work to expand opportunities, strengthen its National Federations and elevate Asian volleyball on the global stage.

As AVC enters the next chapter of its leadership cycle, the Confederation remains focused on building on the progress of the past two years and ensuring that the continued growth of volleyball reaches every part of Asia.
