Joao Palhinha was on loan at Tottenham last season, and he was expected to join the north London club permanently this summer.

However, Tottenham decided against signing the Bayern Munich midfielder, and the Portuguese International is looking to sort out his future. Aston Villa are interested in signing the player.

According to a report from FussballDaten, the midfielder will cost around €20-25 million. Aston Villa is looking to add more depth in the middle of the park, and Palhinha could prove to be an excellent acquisition. He did quite well for Tottenham last season, and he has previously shown his quality with Fulham as well.

The West Midlands club have secured Champions League qualification for the upcoming campaign, and they need a deeper squad with more quality and experience. The Portuguese International could be very handy for them. He will add defensive cover and physicality in the middle of the park.

Aston Villa sanctioned the departure of Youri Tielemans earlier this summer, and Amadou Onana is currently sidelined with an injury. They need more options in the middle of the park, and the Bayern Munich midfielder could be a cost-effective solution for them.

The opportunity to move to the Premier League will be exciting for the experienced midfielder as well. He will look to sort out his future and focus on his football once again. He is well settled in English football, and he could make an immediate impact at the West Midlands club.

The asking price is affordable for Aston Villa, and it remains to be seen whether they are prepared to get the deal done in the coming weeks.
