Anadolu Efes have officially added Daron “Fatts” Russell to their backcourt ahead of the 2026-27 season, giving the Turkish club another proven scorer for its EuroLeague campaign.

The 28-year-old guard arrives from U-BT Cluj-Napoca following an outstanding season in Romania.

Russell led the EuroCup in scoring with 19.8 points per game across 19 appearances while also contributing 6.2 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.4 steals.

His performances earned him a place on the All-EuroCup Second Team.

Russell also helped Cluj-Napoca complete a domestic treble and made his debut for Romania after becoming a naturalized member of the national team.

He appeared in six 2027 FIBA World Cup qualifying games.

The Philadelphia native began his professional career in Europe after going undrafted in 2022 following college spells at Rhode Island and Maryland.

His first stop was Mornar-Barsko zlato, where he made an immediate impact by setting an ABA League single-game scoring record with 47 points.

Russell later gained experience in Turkiye with Galatasaray, Manisa and Karsiyaka, appearing in both the Basketball Champions League and FIBA Europe Cup.

He will now make the jump to EuroLeague with an Efes team that has been busy reshaping Pablo Laso’s roster.

Bruno Fernando, Mike James, Collin Malcolm, Dario Saric, Matthew Strazel and Santi Yusta are among the club’s other offseason additions.
