“I was in there to take my time, and hopefully a shot showed up,” Teremoana said after the bout. “Just being more patient, throwing more feints and trying to find cleaner shots.”

A right hand late in the first shook Savage before Teremoana finished him in the second.

“I knew if I landed a shot on him, he’s going to go down,” Teremoana said. “It kind of annoyed me he didn’t get back up, but that’s the game.”

Hearn shared the concern about another short night, saying Teremoana needs opponents capable of taking him five or six rounds.

“I’m happy I got the job done, but I would have liked a little bit more rounds, but what do you do?” Teremoana said.

His next outing may come on the Anthony Joshua-Tyson Fury undercard in November.

“I think the goal is we’re going to be in November on the AJ and Fury card,” Teremoana said. “That’ll be very, very good to showcase my skills, and I’m pretty sure because of that card it would be a really good opponent.”

Hearn mentioned WBO No. 14 Brandon Moore as a possible opponent. Richard Torrez Jr. knocked Moore out in five rounds in 2024, while Moore later went 10 rounds with Savage last September and won a unanimous decision.

An Australian title fight remains of interest to Teremoana, though he is prepared to move beyond the domestic level if it cannot be made.

“Let’s put anyone in front of me. Let’s get it on,” Teremoana said. “I’m prepared to show the world I am the best, and I’m the best fighter in Australia. As I keep on proclaiming, if you got a problem with that, get in the ring.”
