Celtic must turn their attention to the summer transfer window and how they can improve their squad after the 2025/26 Scottish Premiership season ended on Saturday.
The Hoops secured yet another title with a dramatic 3-1 win over Hearts and have one more game, the SFA Cup final against Dunfermline, before they can fully focus on what comes next.
Of course, the club also need to identify the long-term successor to Martin O'Neill in the dugout, unless they decide to hand the experienced boss another contract.
Irrespective of whether or not the Northern Irishman is in charge next season, the Scottish giants need to bolster their options across the pitch.
They need to win on the final day to seal the title and should aim for it to be less of a competition at the top of the table in the 2026/27 campaign.
Celtic ramping up move to sign Bundesliga talent
Celtic will be looking far and wide to recruit new talent and they are reportedly looking at a star from the Austrian Bundesliga, which is where they snapped Nicolas Kuhn up from.
They signed the German forward from Rapid Vienna for £3m and made a healthy profit on the winger when they sold him to Como for £16.5m last year.
According to Football Insider, Celtic are ramping up their efforts to sign a new goalkeeper and are keen on a deal to bring Wolfsberger stopper Nikolas Polster to Parkhead.
The report claims that the Hoops have the chance to sign the Austrian star for a fee of £1.75m, as the Bundesliga team are willing to cash in on him in the summer transfer window.
It adds that Polster is keen on a move to Glasgow to be the club's new number one and is hopeful that he would be able to handle the step up in quality.
Football Insider reports that Celtic are working hard to find a replacement for Kasper Schmeichel, who is set to leave as a free agent this summer, and the Wolfsberger star is one of the players they are considering.
How Nikolas Polster can be a Nicolas Kuhn repeat
Despite being a goalkeeper and not a right winger, Polster can be a Kuhn repeat for the Hoops by joining from the Austrian Bundesliga to be a star for the Scottish giants.
The 23-year-old goalkeeper could come in as a big upgrade on Viljami Sinisalo, who only kept one clean sheets in 12 league appearances after stepping in for the injured Schmeichel.

In the 2025/26 campaign, Polster has caught the eye with his impressive shot-stopping skills for Wolfsberger, preventing 3.5 more goals than expected based on the xG against his goal.
Sinisalo has had some strong moments in a Celtic shirt, making a few eye-catching stops, but he has conceded 1.6 more than expected overall, which shows that he has underperformed as a shot-stopper for the Hoops.
Polster's statistics suggest that he would be a big upgrade because of his superior ability to keep the ball out of the net with high-quality saves, which is a goalkeeper's main job.
The Austrian talent has also shown that he can be reliable on the ball, completing 73% of his passes and 93% of his passes in his own half. This is important because Celtic are a dominant team who need a goalkeeper who is comfortable in possession.
Polster also made fewer errors that directly led to a goal than Sinisalo, despite playing more than twice as many league games, and his impressive form was not a flash in the pan.
The Hoops target kept 11 clean sheets and did not make a single error that led to a shot or goal for the opposition in 30 appearances in the Austrian Bundesliga in the 2024/25 campaign, keeping 19 clean sheets in the last two seasons combined.
He also prevented 3.68 more goals than expected in the league last term, on top of 3.5 in the current campaign, which speaks to his impressive ability to keep out high-quality shots.
Therefore, Polster could be a Kuhn repeat at Parkhead because he has the quality to become a star for Celtic after joining from an Austrian Bundesliga side.
Already made a bid: Celtic could spend £8m on "magnificent" Yang replacement
Celtic could replace Hyun-jun Yang as a starter by making a move for a star they attempted to sign in January.
