The 2027 WNBA All-Star Weekend will be held at Chase Center, home of the Golden State Valkyries. The shooting skills challenge returns for its second year, scheduled for July 30 alongside the 3-point shootout. The All-Star Game itself is set for July 31.

WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert praised the Valkyries' impact on the league since joining an an expansion team during the 2025 season.

"The Golden State Valkyries have brought incredible energy and excitement to the WNBA from the moment they were announced as an expansion team in 2023, and the response from fans across the Bay Area has been remarkable," said Engelbert. "Valkyries fans have embraced this team with an extraordinary level of passion and enthusiasm, and we can't wait to see that energy on full display for an unforgettable All-Star weekend next summer."

Golden State has led the league in attendance since its inaugural 2025 season and has recorded 41 consecutive sellouts at its arena, which opened in 2019 with the Golden State Warriors. In May, the franchise became the first women's sports team across any sport to be valued at more than $1 billion, according to CNBC.

The announcement adds to a string of major sporting events hosted in the Bay Area. The Super Bowl and FIFA World Cup were both held at Levi's Stadium earlier this year, and the NBA held its All-Star Weekend at Chase Center in 2025. Major League Baseball also announced last week that San Francisco will host the 2028 MLB All-Star Game.

San Francisco Mayor Daniel Laurie celebrated the city's growing sports profile.

"San Francisco is the center of the sports world," said Laurie. "The world can see that San Francisco is the place to be. When the WNBA's best come next year, our unmatched passion for women's sports, and our city's comeback, will be on full display."
