Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayUnadilla delivered a major shake-up in both championship battles as the season moved into its final two rounds. In the 250 class, Levi Kitchen came out swinging in moto one. Cole Davies worked his way into the lead early after Casey Cochran went down, but Kitchen steadily closed the gap and eventually made the pass. Chance Hymas also joined the battle near the front before a small crash cost him valuable positions. Kitchen continued to pull away and took the opening moto win ahead of Davies and Carson Mumford, while Hymas recovered to fourth and Ryder DiFrancesco finished fifth. Moto two completely changed the complexion of the afternoon. Kitchen and Julien Beaumer were pushed wide off the track at the start, leaving Kitchen buried around 37th while Davies took control at the front. Davies never looked back and rode to the moto victory as Hymas finished second and DiFrancesco third. Kitchen put together one of the biggest charges of the day, climbing all the way back to sixth. Davies’ 2-1 scores earned him the Unadilla overall, with Kitchen’s 1-6 finishes placing him second and Hymas going 4-2 for third. Mumford finished fourth overall with 3-4 scores and DiFrancesco rounded out the top five with a 5-3 afternoon. After all of that, Kitchen leaves Unadilla with just a one-point championship lead over Davies, 334 to 333.
The 450 class produced an even bigger championship swing. Hunter Lawrence grabbed the start in moto one, briefly lost the lead to Haiden Deegan, then worked his way back to the front and began building a gap. Behind him, Jorge Prado and Jett Lawrence worked past Deegan as the race developed. Jett made a late push on Prado and grabbed second before the checkered flag, giving Hunter the moto win ahead of Jett, Prado and Deegan. Moto two once again started with Hunter out front, but this time Jett and Prado stayed right on him. Both eventually found their way around Hunter, setting up a three-rider battle at the front until everything changed in an instant. Hunter went down hard while descending Unadilla’s massive hill and tumbled down the slope. He was able to get back to his bike, but the Honda was too badly damaged to continue and he was credited with 39th. Jett stayed out front to take the moto win and the overall with 2-1 scores, while Prado’s 3-2 finishes earned him second overall and Deegan went 4-3 for third. Garrett Marchbanks put together another strong day with 5-4 scores for fourth, while R.J. Hampshire completed the top five with 6-8 finishes. Hunter’s 1-39 result dropped him to eighth overall and, more importantly, handed the red plate back to Jett. Jett now leads the 450 championship with 402 points to Hunter’s 392 heading into Budds Creek.
