On the 11th of January 2026, Sunday, the Aikido Hombu Dojo's Kagamibiraki Ceremony took place in Tokyo, Japan. 1064 persons were promoted at the event. (Photos from the event)

There were 10 recommendations for shodan, 12 for nidan, 15 for sandan, 29 for yondan, 544 for godan, 337 for rokudan, 110 for nanadan and 7 for hachidan. The entire list can be read here: 2026

Traditional Embukai sessions were offered by Doshu Moriteru Ueshiba and by Dojocho Mitsuteru Ueshiba.
