On the 12th of January 2025, Sunday, the Aikido Hombu Dojo's Kagamibiraki Ceremony took place in Tokyo, Japan. 1142 persons were promoted at the event.

There were 5 recommendations for shodan, 7 for nidan, 9 for sandan, 30 for yondan, 656 for godan, 345 for rokudan, 90 for nanadan and 10 for hachidan. The entire list can be read here: 2025

Congratulations to all the Aikidoka that have been awarded a new rank on this special occasion! May you all continue the great work you have been doing!

Also, to be mentioned that one day before, the Liaison Conference for dojos and organizations throughout Japan was held in the 3rd floor dojo at the Aikido Hombu Dojo. Reports on activities during 2024 and planned activities for 2025 were made by the Aikikai Foundation, the All-Japan Aikido Embukai planning committee, the Japan Aikido Federation, the International Aikido Federation, the All Japan University Aikido Federation, the All Japan High School Aikido Federation, and the Ibaraki Branch Dojo.
